Clara Kennedy (she/they) is an accomplished interdisciplinary dance artist and educator, holding a BFA in Dance with a concentration in performance and choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where they graduated with full honors. Clara also has a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, reflecting their commitment to inclusivity and social consciousness in their artistic practice.
From an early age, Clara has trained with distinguished mentors and artists at renowned institutions, beginning their journey at Barriskill Dance Theatre School and studying with leading figures such as Sean Cameron, Zoe Rabinowitz, and Chalvar Monteiro. Clara has attended prestigious programs, including the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive, B-12 Summer Dance, American Dance Festival, and Jacob’s Pillow, connecting with some of the most innovative minds in the field.
Clara’s work has been recognized nationally, with pieces selected for the American College Dance Association’s National Festival and the Pubantz Artist in Residence program. Their creative practice emphasizes the integration of movement, narrative, and social themes, bringing a nuanced perspective to performance and choreography.
In addition to dance, Clara is a certified yoga instructor and is pursuing a Balanced Body Pilates certification, further enhancing their holistic approach to movement. They remain committed to evolving their practice, continuously seeking opportunities to deepen their craft and engage with diverse communities.
